Results - Durbin at Julington Creek plus A LOT of Other information - Please Read
Good morning parents!
We had another strong showing at Julington Creek, despite the brutal heat! Swimmers are still improving every week and it is so fun to watch! The results are attached. Please review and let me know if you have any questions.
It is hard to believe that we are headed into the last two weeks of the season! Please bear with us as we throw a lot of information at you about the last meet of the season, Champs, and our end-of-season banquet!
4th of July - No practices! Enjoy a day of family fun!
Last Meet of the Regular Season - Saturday, July 7th
- Please take a minute to check that you have RSVPd for the meet coming up this Saturday. It will be our last regular meet of the season. If your swimmer has only participated in two meets this season and also wants to swim at Champs, they MUST swim at Murabella on Saturday. Additionally, if your swimmer has specific events that they are interested in swimming on Saturday, you can leave a note for the coaches with up to two (2) event requests. They will do their best to honor those requests but make no guarantees.
- The RSVP for the Murabella meet has been reopened for today, but will close tonight (Monday, July 2) at midnight so please RSVP now!
Champs - Saturday, July 14th
- Please RSVP now for the Championship meet that will be held on Saturday, July 14th at Cecil Field Aquatic Center! As long as your swimmer has participated in at least three (3) meets during the regular season, he or she is eligible for Champs! We would love to have a strong showing at this end of season meet! Due to the size of the meet and extensive work to be done to seed it, if your swimmer is not RSVPd by Sunday, July 8th at Noon, there will be no way to get them in the meet. If your swimmer has not completed his/her third meet and will be swimming in the Murabella meet to hit that requirement, you will need to remember to RSVP on Sunday after the completion of the meet.
- Please take a moment to review the volunteer opportunities for Champs and help us fill any remaining openings. We ask that all parents who have swimmers participating in Champs volunteer for one shift at Champs.
- Don't forget to drop of your food donations for Splash Out Hunger to Michelle Fell, 168 Tollerton Avenue. All donations must be dropped off by July 10! A list of donation requests is attached to this email.
End of Season Banquet - Monday, July 16th
- Our banquet will be held on Monday, July 16th at 6 pm at Christ Church, 6045 Greenland Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32258. Please RSVP for the banquet now so we can get an accurate head count for the caterer! Because we are having a catered dinner, RSVPing is required!
- All swimmers will be recognized and other team awards will be given as well, so please make plans to attend!
- We will be assembling a slideshow of fun photos from the season. If you have photos that you would like included, please send them to [email protected] by Wednesday, July 11th.
Last but not least...if you are interested in joining the swim team board who undoubtedly has the most fun working together of any summer team in the St Johns Summer Swim League, please let Meredith Connell know! We are always looking for fun-spirited, hard working parents to get involved. Whether it is a committee position, board position or getting trained on some of the more technical jobs, like Starter or Computer/Timing System Operator, we love to get more parents involved!
