Good afternoon parents,

I think it's safe to say that the weather patterns this week have not been friendly to us! The weather forecasts for tomorrow are somewhat varied so your board has been hard at work sorting out all of our options and we'd like you to know the plans.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am. We can swim in light rain, but due to the amount of paperwork on deck, heavier rain (even with no lightning) may cause us to delay and/or cancel the meet. If there is lightning and/or thunder, we will be forced to clear the pool and the pool deck for a minimum of 30 minutes (this is a rolling 30 minutes so every time it thunders, the 30 minutes starts again). 

If and when we pause the meet, you should retreat to your cars (or neighbors cars if you walked to the meet) to stay dry and safe. If it is lightning, please do NOT stay under your tents. Metal + lightning is a very bad combination.  

Depending on the intensity of the storm and the projected duration, we may just delay the meet for a few minutes until it passes, or we may be forced to cancel the meet early.  We will make every effort to run enough events to complete the meet (through event #30).

Please DO NOT leave the meet until it has been confirmed that we are cancelling. We will communicate information via RainedOut text messages, email and FaceBook posts.

Additionally, returning families may remember that we normally offer Chick Fil A sandwiches at our concession stand. Due to the uncertainty of the weather, the board has elected to forego those for this meet. They will make their return at the June 2nd home meet! We appreciate your understanding.

We are looking forward to a fun meet tomorrow morning and excited to see all of our Dolphins in the water swimming!
