Nocatee at Durbin - Saturday, May 19 - Heat Sheets and Information
Hi parents!
Our first meet is coming up on Saturday! We know that there are a lot of nervous families as we weren't able to hold our mock meet. Rest assured, we will have experienced swim parents on hand to help make your morning run smoothly.
Attached to this email you will find three documents:
- Heat Sheet - You will want to print a copy of this to bring with you to the meet. There may be changes before Saturday, but unless it impacts your swimmer, this version will work for you. If your swimmer is impacted by an event/heat change, you will hear from Meredith or Andrew Connell or your coach.
- Entry List - Please review the entries for your swimmer(s) ASAP and reply to this email if there are any concerns, questions, or issues with them! Do not wait until Saturday morning!!!
- Parking zones & deck map - As you know, parking is our biggest challenge at this meet. If you can, please drive your stuff up to the field and then return home to park your car and walk, bike or carpool back up to the pool. The fewer cars we can have at the pool the better. Nocatee is a large team too so we are going to be very challenged by parking. Remember if you have to park on the street, do not block driveways, crosswalks, roadways or fire hydrants. Please don't park on both sides of the street.
The timeline for the morning is:
Swimmer and Volunteer Check in*: 6:15 to 6:30am
Durbin Crossing Warm Ups: 6:45 to 7:15am
Nocatee Warm Ups: 7:15 to 7:45am
Meet Starts: 8:00am
*We have had several second half volunteers ask what time they have to be there. The answer is between 6:15 - 6:30 with all the other volunteers. We have no way of estimating the time that the second half of the meet will start and we must ensure all volunteers are on-site in the morning so that if we have any no-shows for jobs we can fill them ASAP. Every volunteer job we have is critical to the success of the swim meet. We appreciate the time you spend working for our team. We couldn't do it without you!**
If you need a refresher on items to bring, how to mark your swimmer, where to set up, or anything else first time meet related, please check out this overview that should answer many of your questions. At practice this afternoon (Thursday), we will have most of our board on deck and are more than happy to answer questions that you might have about the meet. Please check in with us and ask us anything! No question is too silly for a first time swim parent!
Friday Night Meet Set Up Crew- If you are committed to assist with set up on Friday night, please meet at the pool at 7:30 pm tomorrow night. Many hands make light work and with everyone there on time, we should be able to knock it out quickly.
Remember to wear your team shirts, suits and swim caps on Saturday morning to show your Dolphin spirit!
GO DOLPHINS!
